There is as much

There is as much variety in search engines as one wants. From a searchers angle it makes sense to have a handle on the major search engines in multiple categories as one important aspect of doing a good search is to be aware of specific tools to be applied in specified conditions. To illustrate, a good medical search could be done using medhunt.com as compared to say altavista.com.
Broadly the categories that the major search engine could be divided into are:
General search engines
Specialty search engines
Meta search engines
Paid search engines
Search utilities
All of these search engines have a specific utility & specific application. Lets take some examples to demonstrate.
The almost eponymous General search engine is google.
In specialty search engines we have search engines specially for multimedia, medicine, blogs, law, industry ,scientific papers…
The meta search engines are which use two or three other general search engines to generate results & then customize the format in which they are presented.

Your kids should go around twice
by admin on Jul.29, 2010, under Uncategorized
Your kids should go around twice if they can.
- Do jumping jacks in the basement.
- Become stretching champs. They could touch their toes without bending their knees, bend one leg backwards and hold their foot with their hand, or twist from side to side without moving their feet.
- Play ping pong with the family.
- Ride a scooter or roller blade in an empty garage.
- Take 1,000 steps inside the house and track these steps with a pedometer.
- Exercise in the school gym on weekends. (Get permission first.)
- Walk the indoor skyway system if your city or town has one.
These are just a few ideas. If you brainstorm with your kids you’ll probably come up with more. Your kids might want to start a Moovin’ and Groovin’ Club.

QUITE how something called the []; AND WHILE WE’RE AT IT

QUITE how something called the MCC Spirit of Cricket series came to involve Pakistan is a mystery. Maybe the organisers were being ironic. On this occasion — a Test between Pakistan and Australia at Lord’s — Chris Broad, the match referee, was sworn at by a senior member of the Pakistan side and Mohammad Aamer, an 18-year-old bowler from Punjab, showed his respect for the greats of the game by confronting Ricky Ponting, the Australia captain.
On the last day, having reached a very respectable 186 for two chasing 440 to win, Pakistan collapsed to a collection of the worst shots seen in Tests. Marcus North, an occasional off-spinner, took six for 55 and secured a place on the new Lord’s honours board for neutral Tests. Shane Warne’s best Test figures at Lord’s were four for 57

The United Health Foundation is providing $1,225,000 in scholarships for the upcoming academic year to more than 200 students from diverse, multicultural backgrounds.
According to a release, the scholarships, averaging $5,000 per student, are being offered through United Health Foundation’s Diverse Scholars Initiative and are awarded to African-American, American-Indian, Asian-American and Latino and Hispanic students planning to pursue careers in health care.
“These outstanding scholars will be an integral part of the future of our nation’s health care system and a health care work force that reflects the rich diversity of our country. Helping to support and develop these diverse, future health care leaders is one way that United Health Foundation works to improve our communities’, and our nation’s, health and well-being,” said Jeannine Rivet, UnitedHealth Group executive vice president and interim president of United Health Foundation.
The Diverse Scholars Initiative is administered through partnerships with a variety of nonprofit and civic organizations. If the hand(s) being tested become numb
by admin on Jul.28, 2010, under Uncategorized
If the hand(s) being tested become numb within 60-seconds, a physician should check for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome or other impingements within the area of the shoulders, pectoral, clavicle and anterior cervical spine.
Nerve impingements at the elbow and / or wrist can also cause whole hand pain and numbness. The Ulnar and Median nerves run from the cervical spine down the arm(s), through the elbow junction and directly into the tips of the fingers. Both nerves would need to be impinged in order to initiate symptoms in all the fingers. The consulting doctor should be able to run a few tests and ask several questions to determine exactly how, where and which nerves are being impinged.

?Time? should never be an
by admin on Jul.28, 2010, under Uncategorized
?Time? should never be an issue. I?m not suggesting hours per day?but rather hours per week or per month. Building your Knowledge Portfolio should become habit and not just something you do when you ?have time?. It needs to be part of your life, a ritual.
Pursue Knowledge. Pursue Education. Take classes at training centers or colleges.
Learn tools, techniques, and frameworks to improve productivity or the quality of your code. Take time to understand a specific industry outside of IT ? i.e. healthcare, finance, etc. You will always obtain some form of return on this investment.
3. Diversify
Planning and investing only gets you part of the way to a successful collection of knowledge assets. Spread out your investments in different areas. Strike a balance between low-risk and high-risk investments. Choose your investments to maximize the value of your portfolio. Good investments will minimize risk while not preventing opportunities. The more you know, the more valuable you are.
As a programmer, I try not to focus solely on just my favorite technologies, languages or environments.

Old hippies enjoy flower power fair
0 Comments | Gloucestershire Echo, The, Jul 26, 2010
OLDER residents in Bishop’s Cleeve were whisked back to the 1970s at their annual summer fair.
Hundreds of people dressed up as hippies for the flower power- themed day, which was organised by Bishop’s Cleeve Seniors Club at Denley Hall.
Organisers came up with the theme to bring some colour to the event which included traditional games, a tombola and raffle.
Mary Skinner, from the club, said: “We have been going for 20 years now and have nearly 300 members. It is the most popular senior citizens club in the area.
“I think that is because we do something every day of the week. And once a month we have a tea party on a Sunday.”
The club organises whist, bingo and bridge as well as arts and crafts days and holidays.
Mary said: “We have just come back from a break in Torquay where we had 42 members with us. It is a very friendly and sociable club and our members come from Tewkesbury and Cheltenham as well as the surrounding area.”
Sometimes though, things happen
by admin on Jul.28, 2010, under Uncategorized
Sometimes though, things happen that can make you overstretch your tummy skin and muscles beyond their elasticity limit. Pregnancy is one case in point.
Unless you have complications or face health risks, pregnancy is a good thing and should not be avoided if only to preserve your waistline. But for some people, getting back to their trim and slim shape after pregnancy is quite an enormous task. Exercising and dieting should be the first alternatives when addressing a saggy belly either due to pregnancy or drastic weight loss. If those two solutions do not fully address your saggy tummy after a while, then a tummy tuck is a viable option.
Some pregnancies can overstretch your skin and muscles so much so that slimming down becomes nearly impossible. The tummy muscles can normally be addressed through exercise as muscles respond well to regular workouts. But the saggy skin and some leftover fat will be the main concern. Overstretched skin cannot easily shrink to wrap itself tightly around well-toned stomach muscles. This usually leads to the unsightly sagging tummy look.
The tummy tuck surgical procedure can address this saggy tummy skin problem by removing the unwanted skin.
